Softly as you go my friend
To distant roads untravelled
Take along your self-respect,
Faith, and purpose to guide you.
We timid souls who remain behind
Applaud your strength and courage.
We cannot be sorry at your leaving
For a little of you always remains
Ask for help along the way
Hold onto your convictions
Standard bearer for us all
Walk lightly and speak gently,
Softly as you go.
