"Where on earth did you get this huge sum of money, young lady?" The big black police officer asked me in an angry voice.
One of the cops snatched my hand and drove me forward as when a stern father is getting along, as though it wasn't going to end up the standard cop to criminal cross examination all things considered.
" Come here!", he barked again.
"Tell me how you come to be in possession of this huge sum of money. You'll do it here before I'll take to the station for proper booking and documentation." Said the police officer.
My brain was practically blank, only that i could feel a dozen of needles dancing their way through my forehead. I tried to talk however my lips ended up noticeably heavier as I attempted to lift them. Let's say i had no idea how i landed myself in this situation. The cash was too much it even frightened me as well. And i wasn't sure if i earned or stole them.
All i knew is Naija police won't watch me take a walk alongside all the dollar bills in that sack, even if they rightfully belonged to me.
Behind me was a high brick fence, the cop apparently pushed me towards the fence thinking that would prevent me from making a fast move. He should have known i was too scared to even make a sluggish one.
I can't say how much the sack contained, but there were so many bundles in it to intimidate Aliko Dangote. A lot that i could pick one or two or as many as my right palm could carry, without having to profound my turn in the sack; i slowly grabbed a bundle and slid it through the brick hole.
Across the road, I could see a red Toyota bus that seemed to be under robbery attack. But there were other cops roaming the area and paying less attention to the cries of the passengers in the van. Could it be the cops were the robbers? Were they only disguised as COPS? These thoughts raced through my mind.
There was no much time to figure out what was really going down. My major concern was saving my ass and most importantly, saving at least a bundle or two and maybe more of the what the sack contained.
"My friend speak up and stop wasting my time" He purposely made his voice more forceful.
"Huh?" I squinted at him with a confused look. I barely knew where I was. I could only remember Eno, my friend, together with her boyfriend, Nsikak, were warning I ensure the money was safe till they returned from God knows where. I hadn't an idea when they'd even return. In fact, I didn't have a problem with whatever path they chose, as long as I kept the sack safe.
Reluctantly, i opened my eyes, in the dark hush. All I saw was the diminish gleam of the bedside clock and unclear shadow of the light by it. Still not mindful where I was, I extended my left hand to find the block gap where I shrouded the package; yet the evenness of the delicate surface could tell I was still in bed. huh? I moaned. I was only dreaming
Just a dream i had last night..i was still thinking of the significance when it occurred to me that steemians may have a fabulous time reading it if i were able to put it down
