Daisy Come Undone
fallen petal
daisy come undone
lost love nostalgia
It is a simple game of he loves me, he loves me not and a windy day. Who hasn't played this game with heart on her sleeve. Just how many petals take to flight depends on the season and fickleness of the south-westerly.
She Wears Red
she wears red
so sultry, so enticing
so capable of enflaming
a man’s passion
she burns red
wiles, machinations
playing coy
tossed ringlets
shiny coils
of intoxicant
she wears red a canvas
for others to paint
preconceptions
indulge in judgement
cast aspersions
she wears red for strength
endurance and bravery
she wears red
fearlessly
Cicada Hum
cicadas hum
static and noise
space transmits
the power
Keanu Playing the Cure
Let's pause for a little musical interlude that combines two of my favorite things ... celebrities ... bands. Yes, Hivelanders you are in for a treat. Keanu Reeves and his band, Dog Star, yes, I am Sirius, playing their rendition of the Cure's Just Like Heaven.
Of course, I cannot drop one without dropping the original version performed by the Cure. Enjoy.
Go Supernova
yellow suns go
supernova in my wild lawn
it’s a noon starscape
I personally love the dandelion, and see these beautiful pieces of floral sun as an essential part of nature and my lawn. The bees have some food before other Spring flowers make an appearance. Come a few weeks later, the seeds are tiny bit of softness on a zephyr. I am a rebel that way.
A Promised Scintilla
a marine breeze
carried inland in whispers
a promised scintilla
The Mighty Bull Elk
the mighty bull elk
antlered, early autumn cries
desire, hamartia
The Elk is the second largest ruminant in North America. Compared to smaller species of the deer, white-tipped and mule, which are almost as ubiquitous as birds in Alberta; and compared to the largest of deer, the Moose, who doesn't care who sees it, the elk can be somewhat elusive. However come fall and it gets ready to rumble and fight for a date ... well dates. Announced on a horn.
