Walking a vacuum

This image of a space walk is awesome, and the main feeling I focused on in this Senyru was that of the emptiness of space that astronauts must feel, with the vast island bulk of earth suspended below them in the vacuum.
Writing poetry (especially Haiku/Senryu) about technology can be tricky to balance the complexity of the subject, with the simplicity and low word count of the form. As I experiment moving forward with Senryu reflecting on technology, I'm going to try and focus on one idea/image to keep the poem focused while still grasping hold of that simplicity that make Haiku/Senryu such great poetic forms.
Although this poem is Senryu rather than Haiku I feel the poem expresses some of what makes the Haiku form great, particularly:
Yūgen (幽玄), sense of wonder and mystery; it represents the state of mind produced by the inexplicable fascination of things, the feeling of an 'other' universe, full of mysterious unity.

Although similar to haiku, senryu is more open in subject matter - including the human side of existence - and subjective viewpoint, often incorporating humour and political views.
