A wife, alone, she awaits her husbands leave
Eagerly, she carries her infant close to her,
Cradling him in the womb
But with one wrong step
The snapping of a husband’s mind
Leads to the stabbing in the chest
To the body packed into the bed of a truck
The tires screeching with every turn
The windows down, and a man’s lungs
Aching with sorrow, anger, guilt
His heart, has nothing left for all it is
Stained with the blood of his best friend
As his grip tightens on the steering wheel
He drives faster, to dispose of his guilt
His worries. His voices.
Then without warning, he is faced with the ocean
And step by step, he unloads his “soul mate”
Her limp body laying cold in his arms
And without second thought
He hurls her into the sea
Her, and his future child, gone.
The collision on water and body sends shivers over him.
And he his left, with aching lungs, and a stained heart.
