Love and the apolocalpyse.
Destruction and creation. Shelter and exposure. The beginnings and the ultimate end.
This is our theme for the day! Hold loved ones and gather ashes under your boots when the world crumbles. (Hopefully not for a long time!) Enjoy and we look forward to your feedback! <3
You are a whirlwind
But somehow my peace.
In the chaos that surrounds you
I find the strangest silence.
The walls of the shelter shake and threaten
But you guard them from outside.
And when the wind calms
I hear a gentle rapping at the windows...
"Are you okay in there?
I think it's gone."
Telling me to lock the door
When you would leave the silo
And go to war.
Coming home with scrapes and cuts
Dusty and smeared with earth.
Wrestling with demons
That you would never let grow near.
A gentle kiss and whispered reassurance
"You'll be safe in here."
Nuclear fallout..
Bombs dropped in white hot rage
Obliterate what remains.
Shadow people on every wall.
Wastelands of stars.
Oceans that never tumble again.
Silence roars..
Rumbles.
Capsized vessels
Of man's greed.
Arrogance.
Titanic, you say?
We thought unsinkable once.
Ring around the rosie..
Pocket full of posies..
Pockets full of plague.
Self destruct.
And melt away.
Man is man
And man is none.
man is nothing once they've gone.
Me and my ghost writing companion had a great time creating these pieces for you!
I hope you have a fantastic day and look forward to your feedback regarding the poetry we have lovingly crafted from idea to submission to the chain. I hope you find it worthy and again look forward to your comments in the section below.
