Wordgolf is the sport of condensing ideas into fewer words, without losing meaning.
Below are 9 life wisdom wordgolfs I shared on Twitter (@torreyumland)
Upon death you are remembered by how you connect with people.
How you be trumps what you do.
Show respect by cleaning up your messes
Show gratitude by writing thank you letters
You are entitled to nothing.
All and any help received deserves gratitude.
Experiment.
Change what you’re doing.
If you already found what works, try mixing it up
Find what works even better.
- Obsess over spending time on the right things
- Take massive, imperfect action
- Have a clearly stated game plan
- Double down on strengths
- Seek out prior masters
Obsessive focus on key goals yields fastest results.
Everything else has questionable short term yield.
"Work hard/smart" is understood as ‘work more and take clever shortcuts’.
Alternative meaning: replace easy tasks with challenging tasks
To win you need every edge you can get.
Find experts first.
Experts spent a life time, and already solved your problem.
Anybody can buy books.
Buying books != applying expert knowledge.
Books are money cheap and time expensive.
Time is more valuable than money.
No book is cheap.
Thank you for reading!
