Next up in the potentially epic poem-off:
This is a one of my poems from "the early years," aka high school and earlier. Reaching way back to counter or complement 's poem, Far Away - Read it here!

Mirror
I had suffered through the pain,
And all those years were forgotten
In that moment that I found you.
I see you there,
A reflection of myself
And I try to set you free.
This one-way mirror
Is so confining,
I cannot help but cry.
I hear your calls,
My heart is torn!
I want so much to free you.
But here I'm trapped,
So far away
Please know I will not leave you.
You reach to me,
And I to you,
But this thin, cursed glass
Stands still,
So strong,
Between us.
What's a poem-off, you ask? Just a little thang that started a little bit ago. I read a poem that
posted, from his old-school writing days. It reminded me of all of my old-school poems, so I challenged him to see if we could go turn-for-turn and repost long lost words from the vaults of time. No rules apply, and new stuff might just make the mix. Check it out, y'all. Follow the links down the rabbit hole...
