A new friend of mine from church, Kathy, has an incredible gift taking pictures of nature! I decided to use one of her pictures as my inspiration for a poem. Hopefully, this is just the first of many more to come!
The delicacy of a rose
Is such a sight to see.
The way in which it grows
Is a mystery to me.
The petals overlap
Giving it dimension
Like roadways on a map
They draw my eye’s attention.
Its brilliant color pops
Against nature’s camouflage
The early morning dew drops
Appear like a mirage.
The rose expresses feeling
Like no other flower can.
Each color so revealing
The sentiments of man.
It has stood the test of time
The epitome of beauty.
Awe inspiring and sublime
A gift to you and me.
