Today I am reading The Crocodile's Toothache by Shel Silverstein.
Shel (short for Sheldon) Silverstein is probably one of the most renowned children's poets of our generation. An odd fact since once upon a time he was a cartoonists for Playboy. He was also a song writer, and his humor came through in tunes like A Boy Named Sue, made famous by Johnny Cash.
Sadly, Silverstein died in 1999, but he left behind more than a dozen books of cartoons and poetry.
Trivia Note: We share the same middle name, with the same spelling: Allan.
