Today is the fourteenth anniversary of the best thing I ever did. Marrying Ren. Fourteen wonderful years.
This is one of the poems I wrote when we were engaged.
Today becomes tonight and then tomorrow.
The future is devoured by the past.
Our lives pass by in days of joy and sorrow.
This life on Earth was never meant to last.
We choose each day the paths that we will take.
And every path embraced is one denied.
Our future shaped by every choice we make.
The dreams we dreamed in youth are cast aside.
Looking back on paths that were not taken.
And all the dreams now fallen by the way.
I stand content, Faith and hope unshaken.
For all those choices led me to today.
Whatever’s gone before this much is true.
I hold my life fulfilled if spent with you.
