Life's Wind
Winds of change?
More like winds of the same
Ancient spider webs
In dark corners remain
An eddy current circling
Close to a drain
A congregation of jetsam,
Detritus, remembered pain
Meditation teaches -
Feed it into the flame
But my continued inability
Just adds to my shame
FRESH AIR!
At last
Leaving the tunnel
That leads from the past
Now options are doors
Open, welcoming and vast
"Come in" they cheer,
"Step through?" they ask
A deep breath fills me
Against life's wind, I'm steadfast
