In the 55 Types of Poetry Forms I have now chosen my number 8!
This one was a bit different and reminded me almost of some real events that I've taken part of as a Sign Language Interpreter - Weddings!
My number 8 is: Epithalamium (Epithalamion)
A poem written in honor of the bride and groom.
Actually, let me reveal a secret to you guys. I have never attended a wedding of someone I know privately! I just don't know anyone who is going to get married. But I have as I mentioned - interpreted on several of them!
But, there are many wonderful couples out there, either going to marry or are married today. This Epithalamium is for these wonderful people - for there are many of them!
One cannot be an entity
without two parts whole
alas
I will tell you about
the way of love
through eternity:
When a shape is formed
Cosmic tones cling, and
it is for that, we live.
You see, the only thing
which means anything
when all comes to its own ends
is love.
For oneself.
Without love for oneself
one cannot maintain self
and without self,
one cannot operate
in this world.
Thus, the importance of self
has to come first.
Be sure to take great care
of yourselves.
Although!
This is not the biggest point
of love.
When! You dare to love yourself
you are fully capable
of loving the other.
Reflect on yourself
as a river of gold
floating from one thing
to the next, and
the ground has to be firm
without cracks
for all of that golden water
to reach the distance
of others.
And then there is the trap
of digging to much
so that the golden liquid
never becomes a river but
rather a still water.
No joy in trueness can be given
from such a state.
The answer is in the middle ratio:
take care of the ground first,
be sure to make a path for
the golden water to flow through
to reach its destiny:
The Other One.
These,
are my words to you on this day
Light, Live, and Love
on your new Journey
of being Us.
Dearest teemian,
Thank you for your moments of time, and thank you for reading!
As always, if you want me to write something special, you may only ask.
