Hi there. In this Pokemon TCG post, I provide an overview of the Loyal Three Pokemon. These are Fezandipiti, Munkidori and Okidogi.
Fezandipiti
Fezandipiti is a Psychic basic Pokemon in the trading card game. In the video game it is dual typed. The ability on this card is random defensive ability. If there is any Dark Basic energy attached to this card a coin is flipped when it is damaged by an attack. If heads, the damage is prevented. It is a bit of a defensive wall which can slow down opponent's aggression.
The attack of Energy Feathers is a low cost attack of one Psychic Energy. Energy Feathers does 30 damage for each energy attached to this Pokemon. You can maybe combo this with Xatu but I don't see damage going past 90 damage here.
Pros
- Big Basic Pokemon with 120 HP and single prize.
- Attack is low cost
Cons
- Weak damage from attack
- Coin flip reliant
Mukidori
Munkidori is a Psychic basic Pokemon with 110 HP and one retreat cost. The Adrenaline Brain ability is very interesting as it can be quite impactful during the game. Once during your turn, if Munkidori has any Dark Basic energy attached to it you can transfer up to 3 damage counters from 1 of your Pokemon to 1 of your opponent's Pokemon. Being able to transfer damage counters and do damage spread is quite powerful. Given that the combos are there you can knockout a weak Pokemon on the opponent's side and knockout another Pokemon for damage. You can take two, three or even four prizes in one turn.
Mind Bend for 60 damage at a cost of one Psychic energy and one colourless energy is an okay attack. You do get the addition of Confusion which is pretty annoying.
Combos
At first I thought to myself how can you use this? After some thinking and looking at Pokecabook.com I thought to myself "Oh!".
Magma Basin is mainly for Fire types and energy acceleration at the cost of 20 damage. Use Magma Basin, Fire Types with Munkidori to transfer the damage to the opponent.
The latest Blissey ex is a tanky 300 HP Stage 1 Pokemon that allows for Basic Energy transfer. Use Blissey ex with Dark Energy and Munkidori to transfer damage that Blissey takes onto the opponent.
Dark themed decks with lots of Dark Energy could use a Munkidori for damage transfer.
Pros
- Heal up to 30 damage from one of your Pokemon plus deal 30 damage to opponent Pokemon anywhere.
- 110 HP is a good amount for a Basic Pokemon
Cons
- Need Dark Energy for the ability
- The attack of Mind Bend is okay but does not do much against larger Pokemon.
Okidogi
Okidogi in the video game is a Poison and Fighting Pokemon. In the trading card game it is a Fighting type. This card is a Basic Fighting Pokemon with 130 HP and two retreat cost. The ability is something that should not be ignored. Adrenaline Power activates if this Pokemon has any Dark Energy attached to it. It then gets a 100 HP bonus and it does 100 more damage to your opponent's Active Pokemon.
Pros
- Potential for 230 HP on a single prized Basic Pokemon plus 100 more damage is pretty crazy.
- Fighting type is a plus where Iron Hands ex (Electric Type) and Arceus VSTARs are popular.
Cons
- Lack of Fighting energy acceleration for the Good Punch attack.
- Need Dark energy for Ability.
