Hi there. In this Pokemon trading card game post I talk about the card Iono. This post is after the release of the Paradox Rift expansion and before the release of the Paldean Fates expansion.
The card Iono is from the Scarlet & Violet - Paldea Evolved expansion. The character Iono is an Electric type gym leader from Levincia city. Her name is somewhat similar to the phrase I dunno. Iono is also a streamer, online video creator and influencer in the Pokemon game and anime. Some people may consider Iono as a waifu because she is a female. Some people may not like her because of either her outfit, her leg being covered, her Magnemite top things or even her sharp sharklike upper teeth.
That is enough from me about the character. Let's get to the card.

The Iono Card
Iono is an uncommon Trainer & Supporter card from the Paldea Evolved expansion. Here is the Supporter card effect.
Each player shuffles their hand and puts it on the bottom of their deck. If either player puts any cards on the bottom of their deck in this way, each player draws a card for each of their remaining Prize cards.
It is important to note that the cards go to the bottom of the deck before drawing cards. Do not shuffle the cards and your deck when using Iono!
If you have 6 prize cards you shuffle your hand to the bottom of your deck then draw 6 cards. If you almost have the win with 1 prize card left with Iono in play then you shuffle your cards into your deck and draw just 1 card.
This Iono card is okay in the early game but is even better in the late game as you disrupt your opponent's hand as they get closer to winning. Hand disruption plus a random element in drawing different cards makes the matchup more unpredictable.
According to TCGPlayer, Iono has a market price of $2.61 USD at the time of writing. In the Toronto area and maybe in Canada the price of Iono is around 4 CAD or 5 CAD with some prices being slightly lower or higher. This card is very playable. See the Playability Of This Card section below for more details on why this card is good.
Full Art Versions Of Iono
There are alternate full art versions of the card Iono. The card effect is the same but the pictures and how the cards look are different. These versions are more for collectors who like pocket sized art. Some players like having the full art cards in their deck to make their deck look pretty or colorful. These full art versions are much more expensive than 5 CAD per card. According to TCGPlayer the market price of this Iono Special Illustration Rare card is around 86 USD. Picture Sources
This ultra rare version of Iono is cheaper with a market price of around 35 USD (at time of writing).
These cards are quite colorful but they are pricey in my opinion.
Playability Of This Card
Iono is highly playable card in the Pokemon trading card game. It is considered a staple in pretty much all or most decks. Some decks play as many as 3 or even 4 copies of this card. The card's hand disruption effect hurts you but it also hurts the opponent. If you see your opponent with a large hand like 7, 8, 9 or more cards, Iono is usually a good option to limit your the opponent's options next turn.
One good combo with Iono is this card along with Path To The Peak. Path To The Peak negates the abilities of Pokemon rule box cards on both sides of the field while Iono can reduce the opponent's hand size to no more than 6. Using this combo when the opponent is 1 prize card away from winning is devastating and can increase the likelihood of a comeback win.
Iono is a supporter card so you cannot play another Supporter card like Boss's Orders in the same turn. However, you can play the item Counter Catcher if you are behind in prize cards as part of a comeback win strategy.
