Deluxe Bomb ACE SPEC
This Deluxe Bomb ACE SPEC card is a Tool Card that you attack to one of your Pokemon. If the Pokemon in the Active Spot has this card attached and is damaged by an attack from an opponent's Pokemon, put 12 damage counters on the attacking Pokemon. Afterwards this card is discarded.
Cards that are passive in nature like this one are typically not great. The opponent could use something like Boss's Orders to bring a different Pokemon to the active spot as a new target. In the F, G, H regulation format, Lost Vaccuum is used to remove Stadium cards and any powerful Tools out there. There is also the latest Jamming Tower Stadium card that disables the effects of Tools in play.
If the effect does happen putting 12 damage counters on the attacking Pokemon is a lot. Single prize attackers would not attacking something with this attached. In addition there are some lethal attacks that do more damage if there are more damage counters on it like Hearthflame Ogerpon ex and Brute Bonnet.
Is this card worth that one ACE SPEC slot in a deck? I don't really think so. There are better ACE SPEC options like Prime Catcher, Hero's Cape, Unfair Stamp, Secret Box, Hyper Aroma and Legacy Energy.
Stellar Ceruledge ex
There was Armarouge ex from Paradox Rift and we finally have Ceruledge ex. This Ceruledge ex is a Stage 1 Tera Fire Pokemon with 270 HP. It has two retreat cost and Water weakness.
The first attack of Abyssal Flames costs one Fire Energy and has a base damage of 30. This attack does 20 more damage for each Basic Energy in your discard pile. To deal 230 damage you would need 10 Basic Energy in your discard pile. I chose 230 as this amount knocks out most Basic Pokemon ex and Basic Pokemon Vs.
Ceruledge ex's second attack of Amethyst Rage has an attack cost of one Fire Energy, one Psychic Energy and Metal Energy. It does 280 damage with the drawback of discarding all Energy from Ceruledge ex. A damage of 280 is good as it knocks out pretty much any two prize Basic Pokemon V or ex. The 280 amount is good for knocking out most Stage 1 Pokemon ex and Pokemon VSTAR. The discarding Energy kind of synergizes with the first attack but I think this drawback is big. It is hard to attack again as you need get one Fire Energy, one Metal Energy and one Psychic Energy again.
I think Ceruledge ex is an okay attacker. Because Ceruledge ex evolves from Charcadet and Charcadet can evolve into Armarouge ex, you can have a deck that use both Armarouge ex, Armarouge and Ceruledge ex.
Stellar Sylveon ex
Sylveon ex is a Stage 1 Tera 270 HP Psychic Pokemon that evolves from Eevee. It has two retreat cost and Metal weakness. The Stellar Pokemon ex have a different colour scheme compared to the previous Pokemon ex Cards. It has a bit of white background and one of the attacks have different Energy types.
The first attack of Magical Charm costs one Psychic Energy and two Colourless Energy. It does 160 damage with the added effect of attacks from the opponent's Defending Pokemon doing 100 less damage.
Angelite is the second attack from Sylveon ex. The attack cost is 1 Water Energy, 1 Lightning Energy and 1 Psychic Energy for zero damage and an interesting effect. From this Angelite attack, you choose 2 of your opponent's Benched Pokemon and shuffle them and all cards back to the opponent's deck. This Angelite attack fails if it was used during your last turn. (I don't know if Switching allows for a repeat Angelite attack.)
This Angelite attack would be very disruptive to Stage 2 Evolution decks that rely on Rare Candy. Being able to shuffle away Stage 2 Pokemon like Baxcalibur, Charizard ex, Dragapult ex and Pidgeot ex is quite disruptive and powerful. The opponent would have to find a way to re-Bench the Basic Pokemon and then use Rare Candy again to evolve into Stage 2 Pokemon. If the opponent runs out of Rare Candy then you are likely to shut down the opponent's deck strategy. As an example Chien-Pao ex player without Baxcalibur to accelerate Water Energy from hand is very weak.
Sylveon's Angelite attack is still disruptive to Stage 1 Evolution decks as well as decks that still use VSTAR and VMAX Pokemon. It takes one turn to re-bench a Basic and then another turn to evolve. A powerful play is to use Boss's Orders on a non-attacking Pokemon then use Angelite to shuffle two powerful Benched Pokemon into the deck. If the opponent has one Pokemon left, the Sylveon ex could just attack the weak Active Pokemon. The opponent would have no more Benched Pokemon and then you win. In my opinion, I think Sylveon is worth trying out and I can see this being very dangerous to many decks especially Evolution decks.
Eevee Choices
It makes sense to look at Eevee choices as Sylveon ex evolves from Eevee. There are quite a few Eevee options. Let's take a look.
Eevee From Pokemon GO, F Regulation Mark
This Pokemon GO Eevee has a first attack that does hand control on the opponent. It does not seem dangerous though.
Eevee From Obsidian Flames, G Regulation Mark
This Eevee is kind of good as it has 70 HP. 70HP is good as it does not die from Dragapult ex's attack where the opponent can place 6 damage counters. The first attack of Cheer Up is kind of okay as you can attach one Energy card from hand to any 1 of your Pokemon.
Eevee Promotional Card G Regulation Mark With Call For Family
This Eevee is okay. It has 60 HP with a useful first attack. Call for Family allows you to search your deck for a Basic Pokemon and put it onto your Bench. Getting a Basic Pokemon into play in the early games really helps with setup.
Eevee From 151 Expansion
This 70HP Eevee from 151 is interesting because of its first attack. Colourful Friends allows you to search your deck for up to 3 Pokemon of 3 different types and put them into your hand. As long as your hand does not get hand disrupted the next turn (e.g. Iono which is common) you can set up Eevee evolutions the next turn.
Twilight Masquerade Eevee
The Eevee from Twilight Masquerade is weaker as it has 50 HP. The first attack of Ascension is an evolution effect where you can evolve Eevee into a Stage 1 Pokemon that evolves from the Eevee. From Ascension the evolution choices are numerous. You can choose one of Jolteon, Flareon, Vaporeon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, Sylveon or Sylveon ex from your deck.
New Night Wanderer Eevee
This upcoming Eevee has 70 HP and a first attack that has a powerful search effect. Colourful Catch is an Energy search effect allowing the player to search for 3 Basic Energy cards of different types from Deck to hand.
Something tells me that this card could be good outside of Eeveelution decks and with the Supporter Card Giovanni's Charisma.
Thank you for reading.
