As a former professional poker player, been working with hedgefunds, advising wealthy families and now active as an internet entrepreneur I feel I had to make an account with Steemit. I’m a bit sceptic, as ‘a banker’ about cryptocurrencies, but of course I see the extreme movements in Bitcoin, Ethereum and also Steem at this moment. I’ll be writing about my life, past experiences and future opportunities for me, myself, but als for you guys an girls!
I’ll start with the starting of my poker career back in the earlier 2000’s. I still can remember my first online pokergame where I luckily made a straight on a board with 3 clubs. I felt my hand was best, but I didn’t even know what hands we’re best. I believed a straight and a flush we’re even, so I was extremely confused when the showdown was there and the money went to my opponents. I got a bit angry behind my computer and asked in the chat why we didn’t split the pot of like $50, a lot of money back then, and still. How funny must this have been to the ‘veterans’ at the table, and they must placed a mark on my profile to play me as much as the could.
How different was it months and years later when I turned down my full-time job as an asset manager (managing money on the financial markets) and become a full time (online) poker player.
