🇬🇧THE DEVIL’S BRIDGE IN CZERNA
This is what used to be a bridge🌉 (now in ruin) in the locality of Czerna in the
Eliaszówka Valley in the Małopolskie Voivodship. It was called the angel’s
bridge, but the local inhabitants called it the devil’s bridge because of many
related folktales – and it is still called like this to that day.
The aim of building the bridge was to connect the monastery in Czerna with the
monastery’s land property in Siedlec, east of Czerna. It took 20 years to build
the bridge linking two hills divided by a deep canyon. The construction was
completed in 1691.
Over time, the construction gradually deteriorated. As early as in 1843, the
central part of the bridge was damaged. From 1889, its use was discontinued
following the collapse of a part of the central arch and the generally poor
technical condition of the bridge.
One of the folktales has it that once a year, a jamboree of devils’ and all evil
spirits is convened here, led by Lucifer with the help of Beelzebub. Witches🧙♀️ are
also in attendance.
Another legend has it that a great treasure🪙 had been hidden under the bridge
consisting of gold, silver, and diamonds💎, guarded by the devil himself. Another
evil spirit lies in waiting over the bridge to capture the worst sinners, and when
they are caught, the spirit takes them to the Black Pond in Tenczynek, and
drowns the sinners there.

🇵🇱DIABELSKI MOST W CZERNEJ
Były most🌉 (obecnie ruiny) w miejscowości Czerna w Dolinie Eliaszówki w województwie małopolskim. Nazwano go mostem anielskim, zaś okoliczni mieszkańcy – diabelskim ze względu na wiele podań z nim związanych – taką nazwę nosi do dziś.
Celem budowy mostu było połączenie klasztoru w Czernej z położonym na wschodzie majątkiem klasztornym w Siedlcu. Wybudowanie mostu łączącego dwa wzgórza przedzielone głębokim jarem zajęło 20 lat. Jego budowę ukończono w 1691 roku.
Z biegiem lat budowla ulegała powolnemu niszczeniu. Już w 1843 roku most był środkiem uszkodzony. Od 1889 roku z powodu osunięcia się w części łuku środkowego i ogólnego złego stanu technicznego został wyłączony z użytkowania.
Jedno z podań głosi, że raz do roku odbywa się tutaj zjazd diabłów i wszystkich złych duchów, któremu przewodzi sam Lucyfer z pomocą Belzebuba. Obradom przysłuchują się czarownice🧙♀️.
Inna legenda mówi, że pod mostem zakopany jest ogromny skarb🪙, złożony ze złota, srebra i diamentów💎, którego pilnuje sam diabeł, a inny duch czyha na moście na największych grzeszników, a gdy którego złapie – leci nad Czarny Staw w Tenczynku i tam go topi.
