I don't think a great deal about the Democrats running for President this year. I don't think any of them really stand much of a chance of winning despite what some of the arrogant news stations say. When they come out and say things like Biden or Warren defeats Trump in certain states or whatever, I just think back to the 2016 election and how we were bombarded with statistics about how it is impossible for Trump to win, then we saw how the mood changed very quickly as the votes were actually being counted.
Then there are the celebrity endorsements. I guess those are important to some people but I actually don't care for it very much when someone who makes romantic comedies comes out in support of some candidate or another. I just find it patronizing like they are suggesting they know better than we do who we should vote for because they are famous for something completely unrelated.
I was a little surprised to hear the Joe Rogan endorsed Sanders though because when I've listened to his podcast before (and it's a pretty good show) and he seems to be more libertarian leaning, which would kind of entail not wanting to touch anything that even slightly resembles Socialism. It wasn't an official endorsement (whatever that means) but he did say that he would "probably vote for Sanders." That fine. I'm not gonna judge the guy and people can vote for whoever they want.
I did find the backlash that Sanders faced because of this to be a bit amusing.
When some of Sanders' supporters found out that Rogan had "endorsed" him, they immediately demanded that Bernie renounce the endorsement. Why? Because Joe Rogan has made some comments in the past that if you look at it under the microscope hard enough, are considered transphobic.
I had no idea that Joe had done this and I think that most people are unaware of this as well.
They were upset that Joe Rogan, either intentionally or accidentally, has repeatedly misgendered trans people. They went on to make a really odd claim that Rogan has been racist and sexist at "every available opportunity."

Bernie's also been on Joe's show a number of times
This doesn't sound at all like the Joe Rogan that I know but I do find it a bit funny that these people, who presumably want Sanders to win the nomination, would be at all interested in turning away someone as influential as Joe Rogan. He has one of the most popular podcast radio shows in the world. It seems to me like you should really want this guy to be on your side if you can have him.
I have said in the past that I think Democrats' worst enemy in elections tend to be their own supporters and a popular statement is "the left will eat itself."
In the redneck community, you would be pretty hard pressed to find very many Democrats or even left - leaning Independents... I suppose there are some of them but they are few and far between. But when stuff like this happens, a country boy like me kind of looks at the situation and how this is big news right now and I chuckle a little bit. Bernie, or any other Democrat who faces Donald Trump is going to need every little bit of help they can get to even have a tiny bit of a chance and their supporters are already picking and choosing who should be allowed to be on their side?
Sounds like a pretty great recipe for failure to me.
