We live in an age that it seems like there is a crisis of trust in our culture. We are very uncertain about our institutions, and we're very skeptical about those who create them and what their motivations might be. And we have data now that backs these up as facts.
We have record numbers of people that distrust their government, and we have record numbers of people who have lost complete trust in their system. It almost doesn't matter where you come from whether it being America or Australia or from anywhere else around the world. People are losing trust in their institutions and governments.
One of the most that we can't trust is our banking institutions and financial services. And through data we've also learned that we can't trust bankers. I'm sure there are many people who are bankers that can be trusted, if there are any reading this now, but plainly, through data it shows that people are lessening in their trust of you guys.
So, think about this... when people are in relationships with trust, how many in progress can be made? When it breaks down. How many in progress are impaired or fleeing for safety. Those that have broken trust are looking for policing and government to step in, and that's a good thing, however... the more things that happen to a person that cause them to flee in their trust of their institutions, like the banking, or their jobs or other means of sacrificing their time for money, they can get a little more than discouraged and almost even get a feeling of being entrapped into a system of abusive powers that are not in the game to fix these social issues, rather to persistently pervert them and abuse certain rights of certain individuals. Namely, those people who have been through the shit-storm of heart ache with trying to figure it all out, and trying to get justice, or what is owed to them. And, to no avail, they feel entrapped without the liberty of being free from the abusive powers that be, so they begin to distrust everything that has to do with justice, the rule of law, and those that are supposed to protect the rights of these certain individuals that this has happened to.
We have new laws passed all the time, new regulations and new policing powers by the day and still not any of these things protects those who the system has already failed at giving justice to, and so, liberty is just a thing of history. Especially when these people many times die through their tragic losses, and quite frankly give up the battle. And even with these new laws and regulations, it’s a tragedy in the first place, because people have not been doing what they should have been doing from the beginning, and that is protecting people and their rights without coercion.
So now we got problems where people are seeking redemption and not getting any. But we've got people that believe that the power of redemption has to do with adding more powers to the political side of things, and I don't think that is quite the answer.
Do we want a state with more power than it already has? Do we need more regulatory services?
The past suggests that this is exactly what we want to stay away from because handing over to a state more power and things of that nature, ends up growing to be quite problematic and not making things better, but worse. We've seen super powerful governments basically mow over their own people as though they're nothing, and so I don't think that more police powers are what we need and certainly not in these times that we're living in today. The more powerful a government grows the less trust the people have in it. That's just a known fact. People need to take back their power on an individual level, and be able to take that power back, rightfully so. But, in lies the problem, because people all over the place are feeling left without the feeling of justice in their lives and they have a system that's just playing games then with their life. And, this is a huge problem of today.
You might say that you want someone investigating YOUR affairs, but you certainly don't want them looking into mine. Well, good luck with that, because the same degree that we have someone elected to investigate your affairs, they're going to be looking into mine as well, and that just doesn't strike me as a particularly positive development. Practically because I don't think it will work. I don't think adding more surveillance powers is going to help the problem for the people trying to protect themselves from tyranny, rather it will be run by the tyrants and none of their affairs are going to be recognized, and when some of those are horrifyingly bad, see we have a huge problem with that. The powers that be then get away with every crime and the people with money just hire a lawyer and they'll look at a murder as though it doesn't matter, because they have the correct representation and all the power, while someone like you or I will accidently break a law by failing to recognize a code law or a traffic control sign all while not hurting anyone and they'll act like you just bloody killed someone.
I don't think police states and extra surveillance makes people more honest, I think all the evidence states the exact opposite.
I think fundamentally in the west we got a lot of things right, even though most people don't like to admit that we did. We did. And, formally speaking a lot of the liberty and justice solely relies upon YOU the people that things are happening to in ways that are costing you, or even your families lives. Hell, even their children’s' lives are being handed over to the state. And, in that fact, I see it as wrong. WAY WRONG!
A lot of times these kids are going from a loving home with a parent that just so happens to smoke a little weed and they have a minor addiction problem, and the state is getting involved and handing these kinds over to some psycho's who end up abusing these kids or even worse things can happen - they disappear or whatever the circumstances are, they are a whole lot worse off than they were in a loving and caring family with people that cared about their well-being, just ended up having a minor issue, or whatever, while these kids are just broken down and treated so badly, I mean - I've seen stories that should make anyone cry over the ways that these kids are being abused and mismanaged after child protective services get involved. I mean, handing them over to rapists and things of that nature. I think the state is getting things wrong, and on a peculiar level, wrong, because it's almost as though they know that worse is going to happen to these kids and they just need to create more pathways to instill fear into people to keep their bloody system in place that tells people, "look at me, look at me, look what a great job we're doing." All while not doing such a great thing on the inside as it shows on the surface. So, I think more of these powers are going to hurt humanity in a much more drastic way then they already have.
These issues rely solely upon your moral integrity and you can't assume that it's that hard to think things through. It might cause a head ache or two trying to figure out a certain issue or thing, but if your moral integrity is intact, you should have the right and responsibility to think these things out. And, you can say that it's not exactly given to you by the state. And you're right, but you have to think of it in terms that there is something outside of you that exists well before the state existed. Man existed before we created the state, and the state is supposed to protect you - not some fictional man-made law that is going to cost you a fortune after hurting no one and doing no harm to anyone. As long as we allow a state to continually take things away from us through more fines and fee's and regulatory behaviors, well - we're going to be that much more broke then we were before, and quite honestly, I know this kind of management within the system can be quite taxing. Quite honestly creating a monster out of a person beofre they were ever made into a monster before-hand. I believe the state does that many times to a person, and unwittingly, the person just erodes into a nutcase because they don't know how to fight it all.
But this is all part and parcel of your intrinsic value. It's a decision that we've made in the west, is that regardless of their flaws, is characterized by their value, an instrinsic value that's so deep and so profound that the very regulation of the state itself, rests on their shoulders. And that should mean something, and it gives people the right to vote, and then we have to ask ourselves the question if we believe it's a good thing or not, or if we actually believe that we are sovereign individuals?
So, let's assume that we believe that we are because the alternative is some kind of autocracy, right? The other side of that is some sort of tyranny, or the parching off that sovereignty to some sort of bereaucracy or other arbitrary form of leadership. And then maybe you can believe in that, and you'd like to have a strong leader that worries about all of these things for you so you don't have to think about anything, or do any real personal work within your own sovereignty, and that's fine, but you want to think that through because if it's not that, then it's you. And if it's you, and you have to make sure the ship of the state is sailing properly, well what makes you think that you or anyone else that you know is more trustworthy then the people that you are despising to take on that kind of rank or position of power. Someone to lead a whole mass of people and make sure that everyone in the states powers is doing what they are supposed to do? It's not like that's some easy task we're talking about.
It's not like it's self-evident that you are capable of performing that kind of job, and it's not even self evident to YOU that you somehow posess the qualifications of regulating a whole mess of people, because it's a very rare person that you come across that you just so happen to like enough that you'd want to vote for them, and give them this sort of power. I mean if you talk to them with any sort of seriousness, they are able to lay out a whole litany of their own values that they fall short on. Maybe not values that other people are putting on them, but there is certainly that as well. And then they can name innumerable ways that they are not doing what they should be doing, so not only are they falling short of what they should or could be doing, but they are instead doing a lot of things that they definately shouldn't be doing. They know it!
It's like well, are you going to put that right or not? And my sense is telling me that it's not going to happen. In order to complain about the things someone else is doing, make sure that you have your house in order, because if your house in not in order, and you're in charge of a whole state or country, well it turns up to be your problem. That's not only your house that's sinking, that's your whole country, or your whole state that's falling. You're not doing it right. You're not educated enough. You're not awake enough, or you're not articulate enough or you don't know enough about your own history. You're not taking on enough responsability. Then you're looking for other people to blame because it's convenient. It's kind of understandable because it's the dispersal of responsability. But, who wants all that responsability. Nevertheless there is a huge price to be paid for having that kind of responsability. And the first price is the adventure of your own life, because it takes a sacrifice to be taking on that kind of responsability and you're not going to get to do all the things that you first wanted to do, becasue now you have all of this to deal with, and all the worlds problems are going to come dumping on your shoulders.
Sure you could take on that kind of role and be the bedrock of the state, but there goes your adventure. You're not going to be able to be passed out on some couch watching television or playing video games and a friends house.
That's why I don't believe that a person can live trivially at the same time as live their life ethically. And that's why the persuit of happiness is wrong, because it's a trivial persuit. Life is just not happiness. Life is way too difficult for that to be the case. The only promise that life gives in my opinion is a shit-load of pain and suffering. Our lives are too profound and too characterized by suffering and malevolence, and the world is too characterized by trouble, and at every level - for happiness to be the proper solution. Happiness is then like having the burden of having the ethics of proper responsability. The kind of ethics that sets the state straight and in that responsability and work, you find the purpose of your life. You don't find the purpose of your life by playing video games or watching movies. You find it by figuring out what is wrong with the world and trying to get out there and fixing it, because there is just far too many suffering for you not to be affected by someone that is filled with the grief of it. Like, it's too much the bear. There's just far too much of it that needs to be fixed, so that is a true calling for someone that wants to find purpose and meaning in their life, is to start trying to solve these world issues that we have and really dive deep and look at them. Because I'm afraid a lot of people just slowly let themselves get into this way with themselves that shows on the outside that they are perfect and content and happy, while they are burning on the inside and just unable to show it, because no one taught them how to burn after something that bright, or burn after something that rewarding, as to be able to be someone to protect the world from that much suffering that is being had. It's astounding to me how much pain is being inflicted upon humanity today by the powers of the state, and yet - people blindly go about their business and even protect and yell and scream in defense of their bloody institutions that aren't treating humanity any better.
I mean are you paying attention to anything more then just what the mainstream press and the mainstream news is telling you, or are you just flipping on the TV every day and just soaking up everything that is on there as though that's all there is? I hate to be the one to break it to you, but that's not all there is. There are plenty of people who's stories are way more profound then what you're currently seeing on mainstream media. My advice is just to shut that shit completely off. Shut it off for good! It's not the news, and it's not the reality we live in and it's sadly a fitting mold for a 5% of the truth, and if you're after the truth here, you have to have the ability within yourself to do some more digging and to come up with your own truth. You can't let anyone tell you what is true or not true, you have to come up with that for yourselves. And, quit fighting other people on what their opinions might be. That's exactly what these mainstream outlets of information want of you, is to bash someone else based on their life experiences and based on the things that they've studied enough to come out and say that things are different then what the mainstream press is trying to tell you. If you're that vengeful and hateful and filled with trouble that you have to bash someone else for what they believe in, then, by God, just keep your televisions on and believe whatever the hell you wish to believe in. But, allow others to stand on the opposite of that half truth, or that nickel of truth and tell it, or try to come up with reason enough to tell it how it really is, because this world is filled with malevolence and utter grief and painstaking positions that certainly people are out there that just don't care or have the heart enough to care about the things that others are willing to have the audacity to even bring up.
I am bringing it up, and I am willing to talk about hard-core issues that we are being faced with today, because the powers that are rising up are not doing any of us any favors at all while more and more rights are getting swallowed up and people are losing not only their nerve to speak up about such issues, for fear of retaliation, or revenge, but they are giving up completely on their once having a meaningful life. And THAT'S SAD! People should be able to find at least a semblance of meaning to their existence. And I've seen far too many that simply don't have much of any semblace as to why they exist. They haven't found ANY purpose at all. And that's just SAD!
So not only do you sacrifice your sovereignty and independence with more surveillance and more technology, but you're inviting in all that invasive attention and lose your impulsive freedom, as though you can go anywhere you want without being monotired. Today, nearly everything we do is being monitored at some aspect or another. You lose everything that is profound about your life. Imagine everything in your life that's profound and someone just comes along and takes it from you, and takes it all. They take away your abilities, your love, your home, your semblance of freedom, your family, your friends... just everything. Your destiny is taken away from you. That is no way to live life. And, it's happened! Trust me, it's happened. When people are simply living out this half knit tiny life and just given up on the idea of liberty and justice and getting back any semblance of their life that they recognize and they've just given up completely... THAT'S no way to live life! And people have been living that way.
That's the same thing, in the west, that people have been fighting to keep for hundreds if not thousands of years. We want our freedoms, and we want our rights, and we don't want anyone coming with a price tag over our lives and giving us this half knit life where all of our freedoms and even passions are ripped out from underneath us. That's tyranny! When a person feels so abliterated that they've just given up on this fight and haven't even thought about taking any of that power back, that is there's to take back by the way... that is what I call tyranny, and that's no way to live. There's no real life in that. And, they've gotten away with doing their whole tyranny thing with success, and the people who have fought to win their liberties have done so as well with a substancial amount of success.
So all I'm trying to say is that we should never give up on each other, and never succumb to the ways of this world where they want us all standing on opposing sides all fighting against each other, because that's how bloody wars are started and that's how the extremely rich save money, because all that social security is gone. No one gets it when you die, and so what does the governments do? They keep it.
So no shit there are going to be targets on people for fighting for a real cause in the world. The world is an evil place and just because the mold tells you that it's not - doesn't mean that there aren't some real wicked evils unveiling in the world today, because they are.
Anyways, feel free to comment on the ways that you've lost your trust in the institutions today.
