A new hurricane, named Max, was formed Wednesday on the Mexican Pacific coast, but it is not expected to be significantly strengthened until landing on Thursday near Acapulco Resort, the US National Hurricane Center reported.
The Tropical Storm is located at a distance of 170 kilometers southwest of Acapulco with winds of 75 kilometers per hour, it was announced from the center of Miami.
Large amounts of rainfall are expected, which can lead to life threatening floods and landslides.
The tropical storm warning is in effect in the Mexican state of Guerrero.
