I question sometimes how big governments should be. I don't like paying taxes, especially since there is no guarantee at all that the government will manage it in ways that I agree.
Like, if I pay my government in Venezuela, they'll use most of it to arm the police, spy on us, kill protestors and oppress us better.
If I use it in the US, they'll bail out banks with it, fund wars in foreign territory and pay the overpriced bills that hospitals and colleges put out to bail students out.
If I pay them in Europe it's a little better, people are comfy there, looks like a proper place to be in. There is a looot of investment in the spycraft area, in censorship and there they fund a police that enforces gun control, which I'm against, so even though I half agree, I half don't, with funding European governments.
In Australia, I believe they're about to start funding the coal industry? Imagine a government right off the bat giving money to someone to destroy the place it governs. Are they handling the environment as well as they should? (heyyy fires)
So it's like a 50/50 chance (more like 70/30) that I'll get screwed. Given those chances, I usually oppose all kinds of tax due to the risk of it being used against me. But at the same time I understand that governments need money to work, and that people are disorderly and can't get along without a babysitter. So I don't know what to think. On the one hand, we're paying people to harm us, and on the other hand, humans can't handle themselves without supervision.
I'm unaware of any better solution. I kinda lean toward Minarchy due to these opinions, but at the same time I haven't researched it enough or understood much about the political requirements and what has been tried and what works, so I guess I'll just follow along with the status quo and not pay taxes and be an illegal alien like always.
