North Korea has launched another ballistic missile to the east towards Japan, according to the South Korean news agency Yonhap. The report first appeared when Japans radio signals revealed that a missile was launched from within North Korea eastward towards Japan.
The South Korean Cheifs of staff confirmed the launch occurred at 3:17 a.m. local time north of Pyongyang.
Pentagon spokesperson Rob Manning has also confirmed North Korea had fired a missile but that was all the information provided by the Pentagon.
Only six minutes later South Korea's Joint Cheifs of Staff say South Korean armed forces retaliated with a "precision strike" missile launch test at 3:23 a.m. local time.
Guam Homeland Security/Office of Civil Defense says there is no danger to the island or its people at the moment and there is "no immediate threat" according to a post from the organization.
