Venezuela has been in crisis mode since Hugo Chavez the president of Venezuela past away on March 5, 2013. Following Hugo's death the situation in Venezuela has exponentially got much worse. Over the past year the Venezuelan bolivar has lost over 90% of its value. There is little to no medical supplies and all food is being rationed. The corruption has soared and many experts speculate the current president Nicolás Maduro has rigged the Venezuelan elections to stay in power. Riot police have been trying to control the chaos that has erupted all over the country.
An anonymous source in Venezuela stated "He [Hugo Chavez] Left us with a Bus driver as a President and all the corruption all grew in government." The Anonymous source also stated "The majority of all foreign aid is confiscated by the government, they are stealing it for themselves. The Venezuelan government is ruled by drug dealers, thieves and lunatics". I asked the source if any neighboring countries are willing to help with humanitarian aid they responded "almost every neighbor except Bolivia, Trinidad and Tobago and other islands because Venezuela gives them free oil to stay quiet, and of course China and Russia. At this point if the situation keeps going Venezuela is going to be the North Korea of Americas."
