Biden recently slammed 'political violence' suggesting there was too much hate today and this comes after Pelosi's husband recently suffered an attack. It is arguably a bit hypocritical to see Biden calling out political violence in general. Why? Because political violence is arguably the most widespread and socially acceptable violence that is perpetrated today. When you inflict your will onto other people and violate their consent this could be argued as violence because it negates the consent of the individual who is being violated in one way or another.
What do you get when you foster an environment of intolerance?
Individuals on both sides have at one time or another felt violated by the opposing political party, this is one of the biggest dangers of the state. We have seen throughout human history the evil that the state can inflict, millions of people have lost their lives over the years because of widespread violence that is ignited by the state, flames fanned with propaganda paid for by the people themselves.
Human rights and Constitutional doctrines center around that notion, that there are inherent rights that should never be unjustly violated. Political leaders fed up with hate and violence should look to set a better standard and example for communities worldwide.
Though in this particular circumstance regarding the attack of course this sort of behavior is never justified, no one has any right to infringe violence upon another individual and to threaten them with harm in any way. Knowing this and valuing this though you would think politicians would see that respect for consent go a little further in their working environment, instead we see much more willingness though to inflict pain with one policy after another, as well as with actors who hold power over the minority which is the individual.
