Let's Take Our Foot Off Of the Crazy Pedal
Okay, let’s all take our foot off of the crazy pedal and remember that it is the holiday season - the time for family & forgiveness. Having said that, it seems odd to me that educated mature adults cannot simply discuss and debate differing political opinions without getting overly defensive and angry. As Friedrich Nietzsche said, “If a man have a strong faith he can indulge in the luxury of skepticism.” Some of us, particularly those on the Left, are so humorless and uptight that they resemble a racoon behind the dumpster at 3 am anytime they are challenged (Hissss!!!!) If you stuck a lump of coal up their ass, in two weeks you'd have a diamond (thank you John Hughes).
It seems that liberals understand everyone except those who don't understand them. Sadly, some of us have minds that work like a shopping cart with bad wheels that only turns left. I don’t want to call anyone a smug ideologue, but it isn’t wise to think that you are in-the-know and everyone else is an imbecile when you have never deviated one angstrom from your core beliefs whereas some of us have actually explored both sides of the political spectrum. That is like standing on your head and saying everyone else is upside down.
These are the sort of people who criticize Mitt Romney for driving with his dog on top of the car, but if Obama were to execute a puppy on live TV you just know they'd make excuses for it. They believe Dr. Ford's hilariously unbelievable testimony where she was constantly consulted on how to respond, but all of Bill Clinton's multiple accusers are dishonest 'trailer trash.' These leftists' quasi 'religious fanatacism' would make Charles Manson's followers wince.
Todays liberals live in a protective bubble where all they allow themselves to be exposed to is blatantly biased news from such organizations as the dishonest New York Times whose motto should be 'All the News We Deem Fit to Print.' So like good foot soldiers, they follow thier marching orders never pausing for one nanosecond to question them. Then, to top it off, these drones often have the gall to tell those of us with free minds to 'get with it and wake up.' I have an idea. Why don’t we play chess instead of checkers and actually make some cogent, urbane, and more importantly specific counterpoints to someone else’s argument? If the discourse on the Left becomes any more devolved they're just going to start referring to their political opponents as "pee-pee heads." And if you think their discourse could not get any more infantile, then I encourage you never to challenge WORSE.
