Some of you may know I am the one who operates and aggregates news sources daily from as many different perspectives as I can find. Yesterday I was speaking to my mother and aunt and my aunt is/was a huge Obama supporter having almost a shrine to him and his family in her kitchen when I visited.
We mostly avoided politics, but at one point she asked me what I thought of children being separated from their families. I didn't have much to say as I hadn't been following the news over the weekend. The only context I had was from earlier in the week when photos of children in "cages" was being pushed by the legacy media. That turned out to be a big back fire when people bothered to look into it in any depth as those photos it turns out come from a time when Obama was President. A big deal was not made about it then, but the legacy media attempted to use Obama era photos and blame Trump.
Over the weekend a huge deal has been made about the separation of children from their families. As I was aggregating and I made it to the Legacy Media section I started noticing a trend. In today's headlines post I shared two articles and I felt a need I don't usually have to add some comments.
Those are two screen captures from that post. You can see my comment labeled OBSERVATION.
My observation was that this was actually intentionally misleading. This is often known as a LIE.
Immigrant families are NOT being separated from their children.
I have seen no evidence to support that.
However, ILLEGAL Immigrants which can also be termed trespassers, invaders, etc have been separated from their children.
The words migrants, and immigrants are weaponized by the legacy media and other Trump haters (yes, the ones who talk about hate speech while they seem to be the ones who have hate as their primary driving force.).
They intentionally omit the word illegal.
Here are some synonyms for you:
Illegal Immigrant = Trespasser = Invader
If you have property and clearly posted borders to your property I can be charged for trespass for entering it. That is a crime. If you invite me onto your property that is not a crime.
To clear this up maybe we should stop referring to illegal immigrants as such. They would drop the word illegal which makes the entire description now a misleading lie. If you were to drop the word immigrant instead that is closer to accurate. Yet if you just replace that phrase with trespasser it accurately describes the event, and does not attempt to treat criminals and non-criminals as though they are the same.
It is very important to get this correct. Let me show you an example by rewriting those headlines above.
"These Republicans have criticized Trump's 'zero tolerance' trespasser policy"
"Hundreds March To Texas Tent City Holding Detained trespasser Kids"
You see actual immigrants, you know those who respected our laws and legally immigrated here, their kids have not been separated.
So why should trespassers be separated from their children. In the U.S. if a family is involved in a CRIME they are separated from their children while the details are worked out.
Trespassing is a crime.
If you want to be an immigrant the only way that qualifies is if you legally immigrate here. You follow the laws, you ask for admittance, are told yes, and you follow the process.
It is much like your house, and your property.
Should people be able to just come into your house whenever they want?
Should we get mad at you when you defend yourself and your property?
Should we get angry with you when you call them trespassers, thieves, robbers, home invaders, etc?
The U.S. is not the only country to have immigration laws.
They ALL do.
If they don't have a border, and laws then they truly are no longer really a country. If you want to kill a country this is a good way to do it.
Yet if the country you want to kill is the one everyone wants to come to, then do you plan on remaking it into the types of places all those people are fleeing? Seems rather short sighted and stupid.
The key is we have laws. Homeland Security wrote a MEMO (not a law) stating they would not 'enforce the law' under Obama. That didn't go through congress, it didn't go through any agency that actually makes the law. A head of Homeland Security basically extra-judicially decided they were not going to enforce the law. This is what is known as DACA.
Now we've had Judges rule nothing can be done about DACA... On what basis? There is no law. All that exists is a memo written by an agency tasked with enforcing the law stating they were not going to do their duty and enforce the law.
A big problem with the U.S. is the lawlessness. People are not enforcing so many of the laws. Many of the laws they enforce when it is convenient to silence or remove someone. If they are powerful they seem above the law.
The problem with DACA, illegal immigrants, etc is a long period of many cases of failing to enforce the laws. Now people EXPECT laws they don't like to not be enforced. They are fine if they are used on those they don't like. They may scream about tolerance and injustice, while truly to them justice is helping only those they agree with. They would be happy if the people they disagree with die. This is not justice. It is mob rule.
Try trespassing on some other countries such as Mexico and you'll see a much harsher treatment.
The latest thing is to compare these trespasser detention camps to concentration camps. These camps have basketball, playstations, and all kinds of things. They are 72 degrees inside, so they are not sweltering.
Furthermore, citizens and LEGAL immigrants are not being rounded up and put into them. People are trespassing and being put into them. That is a VAST difference from concentration camps, not to mention the treatment and facilities are not unpleasant.
As to cages. There are chain link fences. The cage photos as stated before come from the Obama era, and were not taken while Trump has been President.
Are there some places uncomfortable? Very likely. So what? They are trespassers. They voluntarily (of their own choice) chose to violate our laws and enter our country illegally. Are we supposed to spend a ton of money on them making them comfortable? (we actually are) Meanwhile our homeless populations (mostly in Democrat strongholds) are dramatically increasing. We cannot help our own citizens, but we're going to whine and protest over people that are trespassing?
Anyone that protests these actions. You should put yourself on a list. That list should say you will house any of these people in your home with up to two people per room of your house, you will help feed them, help them find a LEGAL job, pay for their medical, and help pay for their educational needs. If you are willing to do that rather than deciding that you have the right to FORCE me or others to do that, have at it.
The problem is you do think you have the right to FORCE me. You are wrong! You do not have the right to steal from me! You do not have the right to steal from other citizens and give it to trespassers!
If you think you do, you are welcome to come try to take it, and I'll demonstrate one of the many reasons we have a 2nd amendment.
Do I hate you? No. Do I hate trespassers? No.
If you try to force me would I hate you. No, I'd resist. If you managed to FORCE me and I could not resist then I might hate you.
Unlike those that their life revolves around finding ways to hate Trump, I don't really hate many people. I don't speak about things out of hate. So what I state is not hate speech.
I observe, I use reason, I think about the long term, such as "who pays for this?", "how do they pay for it?", "how might that impact people already here?", and "is it voluntary".
Now, I know there are fellow anarchists that will jump on the bandwagon about borders and nations. I get your point. The problem is reality doesn't give a shit about opinions.
If you don't want those things to exist then go about making them cease to exist. Ignoring them does not do that. It just puts you in a position where people will use their LAWS to justify imprisoning, or killing you.
I realize you want a fast solution. It isn't going to happen. Think long term. It likely won't happen in your lifetime, but we can work towards it happening in the future.
EDIT: A few bonus headlines... check the dates.
