The Labor Party and the Coalition are out on the hustings (stump in the
US) for the next few weeks and babies will be kissed, flesh pressed,
protesters arrested, candidates egged and media events staged. Some
reputations will be destroyed.
The election has not been called yet as at time-stamp 20190411:1500,
and Bill Shorten (Labor) has complained that the Coalition Government
is deliberately holding back so that they can use tax-payer funded
advertisements. Scott Morrison (Coalition aka ScoMo) retorted that he
learnt that tactic from Kevin Rudd (Labor retired).
A billionaire Chinese 'businessman' has been throwing dollars around
and Shorten has accused the Coalition front benchers of getting too
close to the money. In retaliation the Coalition has published pictures
of Shorten attending the wedding reception of said 'businessman's
daughter. ScoMo has ordered the cancellation of the businessman's
residency.
Millionaire Malcolm Turnbull (ex Coalition deposed Prime Minister) has
been interfering in the election with what can only be assumed to be
revenge on his mind. Nudge, nudge say no more.
The Coalition has astounded the Labor Party and the Gilmore branch of
the Coalition by appointing Warren Mundine, the former National
President of the Australian Labor Party, as their candidate for the
marginal seat of Gilmore. Gasp, shades of Malcom Turnbull! No kids, not
the other Warren Mundine.
Tony Abbott (ex Coalition Prime Minister) has so many people trying to
take his seat from him that the election paper in his electorate may be
as big as the upper house election paper. I understand that Peta
Credlin will not be standing.
Now the important news, the betting odds from sportsbet
are:
Next Election - Sworn in Government
Labor
$1.16
Coalition
$4.85
Greens
$201.00
Australian Conservatives
$251.00
Pauline Hanson's One Nation
$251.00
The minor parties of course hope for a hung election so they can have
the balance of power.
