The presidency is still very much up for grabs, if you ask me. Here are three reasons why I believe we are about to see a steep rise in popularity of Gary Johnson and Jill Stein and a further decline in the two party candidates.
1) Many voters will simply never vote for Hillary or Donald because of the likelihood the two candidates:
a) ---will continue or increase our foreign interventionist policies and thus cause more death and suffering for families around the world and more terrorism for Americans.
b) ---will continue or increase the drug war and thus the tragedy of incarceration that is inflicted upon America's most vulnerable.
c) ---will not do anything to stop the continued corruption of our political system that prevents it from being a tool for the betterment of the American people.
2) Those voters know that at the core of the Libertarian and Green parties is a desire to reduce foreign interventions, legalize cannabis nationally and evaluate the possibility of legalizing other drugs, and take concrete steps to get $$ out of politics.3) Things change very quickly these days with the viral nature of the internet and the awareness that there are candidates that will tackle the above three issues will spread very quickly - especially given the fall of Sanders and the historically low favorability ratings of the two primary candidates. The hub/spoke model of news distribution that supported the two party system is truly close to its end.
As I noted, I believe this presidency is very much ripe for the picking. People are very hungry for alternatives. Stein seems to be pretty far behind but Johnson is already polling at 10%. He needs to be at 15% to get on the debate stage.
