First off, what is Identity Politics exactly? You may here it being thrown around every once in awhile on social media, and political discourse, but Identity politics is when a Party or politically active group or movement, excludes itself by focusing on minute details, the minorities, while excluding everyone else or everything else from their visions. The Democratic party has seen a sharp increase of Identity politics taken place in its members and representatives (Which could he a factor in the rise of right wing populism.) The Democratic Party tends to focus on, specifics minorities, excluding the common man, and also, complaining (the republicans are Delete repeated word guilty of this to,) about problems, and attacking at the branches of the problem, but are never brave enough to reach down and sever the roots of the problem, the root of the problem is Modern Crony Capitalism, big businesses, bloated and swelled to a huge size, squeezing out the production of its workers and crushing the dreams of entrepreneur with their screwed business tact. We need a true revolutionary party that is brave enough to swing at the root of the problems, and sever the branches from their base. Its inevitable it will happen, but the real questions are when and how?
