I'm not going to recap the whole debate on preferred pronouns and whatnot. I assume readers are familiar with common arguments.
One particular refrain that irks me is the SJW claim "a decent person will respect MY pronouns".
Here's my response: Respect aside, they're not YOUR pronouns.
They're MINE, not yours, because it's MY speech. I use pronouns to denote an individual's sex. Sex distinction is important to my speech, because it enhances precision.
Gender is a very murky distinction, so I don't deem it useful in conversation.
