The United Nations General Assembly voted in favor of the resolution that rejects the US decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. The favorable votes were 128, the contrary nine, abstentions 35.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he was satisfied with the number of countries that did not vote for the UN resolution. "We reject this UN decision in Israel and we are pleased to point out that a significant number of countries have not voted for it," said the premier in a statement released by the Israeli government.
Even the Palestinians said they were satisfied with yesterday's vote. "This decision reaffirms that the just cause of the Palestinians benefits from the support of international law.
