New Yale study in NBER showing a divergence on excess deaths by political affiliation in Florida and Ohio after vaccines became available. This chart is adjusted for age and county differences. Republicans died at higher rates than Democrats after vaccines became available.
The first vertical black line is the start of the pandemic. The second vertical black line is when all adults became eligible to receive the coronavirus vaccine.
This is even starker when you realize the demographic differences between the parties. Dems are more likely to be BIPOC, who had higher infection and death rates during the pandemic than white people as a result of their higher risk employment, higher health comorbidities, etc.
