Bad news for all Poloniex users with a Legacy account. Poloniex has just reported that all Legacy account holders will have to become verified at some point next year to be eligible to trade. The exact date for this deadline will be announced in the first quarter next year.
Although Poloniex will give a notive in advance before this requirement goes into effect, the exchange recommends users to check their profiles right now to determine if you have a Legacy or a Verified account.
Poloniex will begin forcing full KYC on legacy account holders in 2018
On the date of the deadline, legacy accounts will be placed in a state where trading and lending will be disabled and open orders will be closed. The good news is that withdrawals will remain enabled at the daily withdrawal limits prior to the deadline ($2,000 USD).
