About Polyamide
Polyamide (PA), commonly called Nylon, is a semi-crystalline polymer derived from cyclohexane. It has an amide group (CONH). PAs have exceptional toughness along with good wear and sliding abilities. They can either be aliphatic or aromatic in nature. The two of the most versatile PA types used are poly(hexamethylene adipamide) nylon 6,6 or PA 6, 6 and polycaprolactam (nylon 6/PA 6). Commonly employed processes for manufacturing PA goods are casting and extrusion.
