Say hello to Octavia, the new member of the family.
Last night walking the dogs we heard some weak noise coming under a car parked in front of our block. A small kitten appeared, scared and lonely. The mother cat could not be seen around and the dogs surrounded the kitten. A car was just approaching and I took the little one, because it would be squashed. It crawled over my jacket. I put it back on the ground and again no sign of the mother. The kitten followed us and I just could not leave it there, thinking how little chance of survival it had.
I knew from the previous owner of our dogs that they were living together with a cat and it will be a matter of time to get used to the new member. Of course they are jealous and curious at the same time.
First thing in the morning was to see the vets and get some advice of what food to give and what jabs it will be needed.
They checked and weight the kitten - 200 g only, it is around a month old.
Apparently it is a girl and we called it Octavia, after October. 😀
Action plan - make a safe place for Octavia to be separated from the dogs and to have enough space for herself.
How will it look? Wait and see!
More to follow....
We are busy building cat's house 😀
