Here's a photo from 2013 of Erik, a high-school friend of mine. Erik is currently in Mexico - he's biking from the northernmost point of Alaska all the way to the southernmost point of Argentina. He's a veteran, and an all-around good dude.
Lit in a two light setup. Key light is a camera-right speedlight firing through a shoot-through umbrella. Background light is a speedlight firing through a scrim. This is a budget-friendly setup that has some pretty spectacular results.
