My first post on wonderful The Pollen Flow community is some pictures of hoverflies. A common syrphid flies or drone flies that often seen hovering around the garden. Hoverfly is known as one of the pollinators that feed on both pollen and nectar for energy to produce eggs, which usually seen on flowers but also occasionally grasses and trees. Hoverflies may vary in color and size but I mostly found yellow and black hoverfly which sometimes made me confuse to identify them with wasp or bees. Hoverfly belongs to the family Syrphidae, in the order fly. I took these hoverflies at different places and times with different gears; a smartphone and DSLR.
