Hey, I'm seeing my daughter today for the first time in two months. Last nights sleep was terrible, I must be excited :)
Coffee fueled, and with a little help from @hiveSQL to skim through the past three years or so, my favourite 3 posts (with a couple of bonus efforts) in response to Marky's post earlier today.
When I started writing, I was completely terrible. I think I've improved through practice somewhat, but when I read other work which just flows and is a joy to read, I know I'll never be up at that level. Quite a lot of my stuff has been more functional and data orientated, that has saved my Flesch reading ease (Is that still a thing?) somewhat, and I'm grateful that there are people interested in these kind of posts.
I've been told many a time to 'post moar', but I do find it difficult to come up with ideas at times, and some days I spend quite a lot of time either commentating or going down data rabbit holes that lead to frustration/nothing.
Anyway, I do occasionally come up with something I'm pretty happy with, and the posts linked below fall into that category for one reason or another. And some of those reasons could be level of engagement, the payout, how long the post took to write, how raging you were when you wrote it, etc.
I'm sure on a different day I'd probably select a different set of posts. (What, no Competition - Welcome to Ste..?)
Bah! Anyway, onwards.......
A food post
Bet you didn't expect that!?
It's not really a typical food post, quite the opposite actually. I'm complaining about the prep time when making food and the time 'wasted' when eating - and my opinion hasn't changed.
Is anyone else just not that excited about the prospect of preparing and consuming food?
Prep time 10 mins, chewing for an hour
The reason I picked this one is because , an influential account, seemed to like my post and gave it a re-blog. At the time, as is still the case now to some extent, a share by a prominent user will likely mean more visitor and attention and this was, although a bit shit when I look back, my 'breakthrough post'.
Tales of woe
So while the few good souls continue their altruistic behavior, are 'we' just frantically shoveling water out of a steadily sinking ship?
What if we ALL went 'full asshole' for a week to perhaps finally prove the point that the current algorithms aren't working, and force the changes that seem necessary at this point?
Are the selfless delaying the inevitable/essential
There are some calculations on how my profit maximization would look (21/April/2018) and some interesting quotes from others, if you like your history lessons.
Why did I pick the post? The meme of course :)
One from the heart
Marky listed one of his top 3 as a personal effort, and I think that influenced this ones appearance. I have added the occasional 'life' post, but not so much of late as umm, there's not a lot been happening :)
The eternal heartache of a distant dad
Written the week before I was due to see my daughter for the first time in around a year and a half, she was clearly prominent in my thoughts at the time.
Two more for good luck
More history for you, and a story about the technical analyst slowly 'forcing' others to follow suit.
Do inactive votes for witnesses affect the witness ranks?
Well the tl;dr at the time was 'no' (and would likely be an even bigger 'no' today), but this took around 30 hours to find out, and the post has 1 of my 2 votes.
OK, that's me. I think I'll try and grab a bit more sleep before this afternoon.
Use the tags #blog and #toplist for massive profitssss....
Cheers
