We thought Steem was decentralized, we were calling ourselves to be the best community out in the online space, we had dreams and projects to accomplish and all was about two fall. A bit over two years ago, Ned Scott came with the announcement that Steemit, Inc, was sold to Justin Sun.
That along with all the STEEM ninja mined stake. As soon as I heard it I knew we're in trouble. I never liked Justin Sun and never trusted this guy, but Ned was looking to be somehow trustable... and it turns out he wasn't.
He sold us like a coward, and for a few weeks we tried everything in nullifying Sun and saving Steem, but it was a lost fight and thanks to and others, a hardfork of Steem took place and Hive was born. I switched to it instantly.
I did that because my world fell apart when the shithshow with Sun and Scott occurred and Hive was a life boat that I couldn't miss. The interfaces were a copy/paste of Steemit, but it didn't matter at all. We finally had our own blockchain, decentralized and built to grow.
Where is Steem now?
I'd say it is in the gutter and it is somehow the home of "lost souls" and a bunch of Koreans that don't have the guts to try Hive. Hive on the other hand is in continuous expansion. Just by looking at and you can see how far we've come and what a drive for expansion we have.
Hive is everything that Steen never was. Hive has organic growth and curation, it's decentralized(no ninja mined stake), clean of abuse and missuses, has apps that are a game changer for this blockchain and plenty of communities doing the WEB3 job pretty well.
Hive in comparison with Steem doesn't feel diluted at all. It's like this chain finally has a purpose and drive to make itself a name in the blockchain industry. Hive deserves it all and we should be celebrating that. For someone like me who's active on Hive on a daily basis, two years feel like an eternity, but when you look at the prospects of blockchain industry it feels like it's just getting started.
Comparing the two charts, the ones of HIVE and STEEM it's like looking at a "gem that's about to explode" vs a shitcoin that is hibernating for years and doesn't seem to be re-covering any time soon. I don't know about you, but Hive for me is life changing. I have achieved so much on so many levels by being an active member of this blockchain that I can't express my gratitude enough.
Happy second birthday Hive!
We deserve it all and we should be proud of this project. It's probably the most vivid blockchain out there. Glad to be a part of it.
Thanks for attention,
Adrian
