You tried to download a safe file from a safe website but Google Chrome flagged it as "dangerous" especially if you are downloading a cryptocurrency miner program.
After you clicked download it appears at the bottom of your screen with only a "Discard" option.
So, how do you get around it to make Google Chrome download it for you?
Here's a simple workaround, click the three dots at the upper right corner of Google Chrome then choose "Downloads"
Next,
Click "Keep dangerous file"
Next,
Click "Keep anyway"
And voila! The file is now downloaded.
This feature of Google Chrome is a security that protects you from downloading unwanted dangerous files.
You can use the workaround described above if you knew what you are downloading. Only download a file tagged by Google Chrome as dangerous if you know that you are downloading a safe file.
Note:
Always make sure only to download safe files and always scan the file with your antivirus before using it. If ever your antivirus still tags the file as dangerous make sure that you know what you are doing before using or installing the program.
