A few weeks ago, I wanted to find a place where I could get a little bit of healing but didn't want to go far. I live in a pretty dense area of the city , so sometimes it's hard to find a place that's really green and quiet... While scrolling through Google Maps , my eyes landed on a unique name: Taman Jangkrik.
The name is really cute, isn't it? I was immediately curious , and finally decided to go there in the afternoon. And it turns out... this place is one of the best hidden gems I've ever visited!
As soon as I arrived , I immediately liked the atmosphere. The park isn't too big , but it's spacious enough for a leisurely stroll... What I liked was that the park was clean and tidy. Lots of shady trees, green manicured grass, and some colorful flower plants that make the atmosphere more fresh.
This park is perfect for unwinding. I saw children playing with a small ball, some men sitting reading the newspaper, and a couple having a small picnic. But the atmosphere is not crowded which makes you dizzy, it's cool and calm.
In some corners of the park, there were concrete benches painted in bright colors. I sat on one of them while taking out a book and reading a few pages... There was a gentle breeze, and the sound of crickets (yes , there really are crickets!) made the atmosphere even more natural.
What makes me like it even more is that the park has a circular natural stone walking path, so you can walk around while getting some exercise. For those who like to take photos too, there are many cool spots that can be used as a background. I even took some pictures that I immediately edited and ready to post on Hive too.
One thing that I think is really important: this park is not just for style, but also to be taken care of together with the local residents. I chatted briefly with the janitor there, he said there was a weekly picket schedule from residents to clean and maintain this park. It's cool that the spirit of mutual cooperation is still so strong!
I came to this park alone, but I really felt like I got a moment to rejuvenate my head. Sometimes we like to think that healing has to be expensive or far away, even though there are places like this that are close, free, but can make the heart calm.
If you're in town and need a place to hang out, read a book, grab a coffee, or just watch the clouds pass by , try Taman Jangkrik. This place is not just a park , but also a public space that has social value and a small, vibrant ecosystem...
📌 Don't forget to keep the park clean and stay polite when visiting!
