Monomad: Big-eyed Hoverfly

Hoverflies are one of my favorite fly species, after robber flies. I love it because, unlike most flies that like garbage, food waste, carrion, or excrement, the hoverfly is a romantic fly.

Maybe you're confused. Could there be romantic flies? I think just like humans, all animals have a romantic attitude towards their mate.

But I'm not talking about that. I say romantic because it tends to like flowers. You will not see a hoverfly perched on carrion or excrement, except on flowers and flowers.
