Hello, everyone! Last week I went on a 4-day trip to Budapest and did a bit of street photography. Fascinating architecture of downtown monuments and buildings is a beautiful backdrop so I like to hunt for subjects there for a more complete scene. The Hungarian Parliament building is leading in its magnificence and is the most popular landmark of the city. Another one is Chain Bridge next to it, although at the moment it's under renovation and closed to passengers.
With its Gothic style architecture, grandiosity, symmetrical appearance and hundreds of sculptures, the Parliament is a magnet for tourists and local passers-by. The tram line rides right past it on it's way along the Danube river so you can enjoy it that way as well.
Photographing trains against such old-style buildings is another possibility to try. As you can see from the last photo, which turned out to be my favorite, you can end up with some interesting results, especially when the curious subject pokes his head through the window.
I arrived at Budapest late in the afternoon, with rain pouring down. I didn't wait long and headed towards the well known spot with my camera. Dark clouds and occasional rain made this Gothic beauty appear even more spectacular. Once there, the tricky part is to compose everything so that no important parts are cut, subjects are well framed or within subframe, and the chosen perspectives shows the most out of the scene in the background.
Hope you like the frames I captured on this particular day. More to come in the next few parts. Photos taken with Fuji X-Pro2 and 35mm F/2.
