Yesterday at around 16.30 afternoon I and a friend went hunting for some macro photo objects in the forest & from some of the macro objects I found I was very interested in a unique & rare spider.
It's not without reason that I say this spider is unique & rare, this is because in all my hunting for macro objects both in the bush and in the forests I have never found a spider like this. Meanwhile, its uniqueness lies in the shape of the spider, which at first glance looks a little scary compared to other types of spiders.
Because this was the first time I had discovered this spider, my curiosity aroused so I decided to ask Google Lens for help to detect this spider. The results that are exactly the same as the spiders I shared don't come out, but of course there are relevant results. And I think this spider is part of the Thomisus spider, a genus of crab spiders from the Thomisidae family.
The name crab spider of course refers to the spider's crab-like shape consisting of the spider's front legs which are almost the same as the crab legs, as well as the shape of the crab shell which slightly resembles the back of this spider. Even though the shape of this spider looks scary, in my opinion it has a beautiful & attractive color, namely a combination of brown with yellow legs accompanied by black on the tips of the crab legs.
As for other interesting facts about this spider, even though it looks scary, its behavior is not aggressive and instead looks quiet. This was evident when I photographed it, this spider didn't struggle much or even jump like most other spiders.
At first I was a little worried when I first wanted to photograph him, would he bite or scratch? but when I observed its movements for a moment, it turned out that this spider was not as scary as its appearance, and I concluded that this spider was a calm & good spider. :)
