Happy start of the year to everyone, I hope you had a great time and i wish that this year is better than the last.
Today I want to share my first drawing of this year, this time working on some realism with a very subtle oil style, using desaturated brown tones to make it look a bit more real, this time my idea was to pretend the face vanished from a little, I really liked the result.
I started my sketch, at first I did not have a clear idea but if I had something similar to what I did, to mark where the part that "fades" would go, I made some stripes without much care, I chose the colors that this time are skin colors in tone earth, with the help of a diffuse brush I began to fill in each part of light and shadow, then I decided that I wanted a harder texture, so I began to mix and give details to the tones using a brush with an oil texture, like this, little by little I was forming the face and torso.
I applied the details of the face that were missing, such as the eyelashes, eyebrows and some shadows that would give a little more realism, for the hair I painted with dark brown and I began to give light with a yellow tone and a low opacity, creating some reflections that look a little more natural, to do the "fade" I just created a new layer and subtracted the colors of each part that I was going to fade, I started painting upwards and with a wavy shape, with the finger tool I gave it more softness some of the lines, finally I applied some highlights and a color adjustment to the image creating a little more intensity.
