A few weeks ago a showed a picture of some fungi growing out from the side of a tree in my local park. Well, as you can see from today's cover picture it looks like the fungi was a sign that the tree was rotten at its base. We've had a few wet and windy days recently but nothing that should of downed a healthy tree.
I had intended going for a run today but as I was getting ready the heavens opened again and put a damper on my enthusiasm. A couple of hours later, not long before I had to go back to work, the rain stopped and I was able to get out for a quick walk around the park where I came across the downed tree. I'm hoping it happened during the night while nobody was around to get hurt.
