Whenever you talk to someone about their ambition and life, they always talk about obstacles and possibilities, and about the superiority of others for having better conditions and better capabilities.
Only a madman can deny the fact that capabilities and abilities are important, that the son of a capable man can have better educational attainment than the son of a middle-income man when they are of the same academic abilities; the money has a recognizable authority.
A physically strong man with muscles can lift more weights than a weak man can carry, as well as the case of a distinguished football player who can score goals from half-opportunities, while the average player fails to take advantage of any opportunity.
However, if the capabilities were the decisive constant rule in everything, Greece would not have been able to win the Euro 2004, and Porto and their madness would not have exploded weeks earlier in a celebration of the Champions League with Jose Mourinho.
Europe nations were unable to face the Danish national, a team that wasn't even supposed to be in the Euro 1992. Yet, Denmark managed to win the title in the tournament they wouldn't have joined if it weren't for Yugoslavia getting disqualified.
Atletico Madrid practically stole the Spanish league title from the jaws of Real Madrid and Barcelona in 2014. Atletico wouldn't have won that La Liga title or played in two Champions League finals if they had given into the skill gap.
Same for Borussia Dortmund when they qualified to the Champions League final after also managing to take to German league from the claws of Bayern Munich, and do not forget the crazy story of Leicester City in the 2016-2015 season.
If potential and probabilities were everything, there would be no surprises in sports, rich countries would have dominated all the sports that need training, and European players would have failed every sport physical sports to Africans.
Potentials have their respect, and they have their place, but they must be invested and developed, and we should try to enhance our stock of them. Yet, they are not everything except in the traditional thinking that we believe; Because the potential that lies within us is unrealized and unpredictable, which cannot be realized, liberated, and developed unless they are invested in by pushing the traditional thinking that controls us out of the window.
Greece gave the best-disciplined performance in football history in any tournament when they won the Euro 2004, and the players did not know what abilities and potential they possessed going in.
What about you? Can't you be a surprise? Can't you be a dark horse in
your life? Yes, you can. Provided you believe that it is possible.
Let us search within ourselves for our unrealized and unfamiliar capabilities. It is possible to invest in some qualities, and then turn them into unexpected abilities, so that you may be envied by the most capable of their abilities and their capabilities in their traditional sense, the possibilities are not everything! There are -always- possibilities outside the box...so look for them!
In Conclusion
Dark horses are the ones who train, work hard, and make the best of the little opportunities they get. They have the steal mentality to turn a probably no into a surprise yes. They are the ones who didn't "know their place".
These are the stories that inspired me to go from a clinically depressed into a person willing to fight upward.
