There are many ways to make a skirt but I always like to make simple and easy skirts with an elastic waistband and that are comfortable. On this occasion I will make a skirt for a client that she asked me to make with a detail on the skirt. She likes embellishments on skirts, especially on the hem, and I feel that this gives our skirts a detail that looks very beautiful when worn.

I would like to share with you how I made this skirt, which I found very easy to make and with a super soft fabric. I hope you like the results a lot 🥰🤗🪡.

The first step we will do is cut the width and length of my skirt, we will leave the length of the skirt as the length of the fabric, which in this case would be 80 cm, then we will make the width 140 cm, then this will become a square 80 cm long x 140 cm wide, taking out the sides of the waist or the shape of it, we will also make the fall in the front piece of 1 cm below.

Then we are going to join the skirt, what we will do is sew it on the sides and at the bottom, I did it with the overlock machine but you can do it with your normal machine, we also sew the edge of the top of the skirt and we are going to fold it inwards making a hem that will allow us to insert the elastic there that we will place to hold the skirt, we will of course leave a small hole to put it in.

Then, using the tape tool, we will hold our elastic and prepare it to be able to insert it. Then, we will join the lace at the bottom to the skirt and insert the elastic and close the hole we left with a seam.

To finish sewing my skirt, I will sew the lace over the top. I will do this with a straight stitch so that it will be much easier to stretch it a little and sew so that it does not rise.
