The cooler temperatures now have the Woolly Bears looking and searching for a safe place to hibernate for the Winter.
A few examples of places
they like to dwell is under old tree logs, stones and leaf piles.
Woolly Bear caterpillars will spin a cocoon and evolve into the Isabella tiger moth in the Spring.

According to folklore the
Woolly Bears can predict upcoming Winter.
If the middle brown- redish band is wide then it will be a mild winter. The blacker the band the more severe the will be.
I always check the bands when I see them and I honestly say they don't all agree on the forecast.
I was totally fascinated by the little Wooly Bears when I was a child and still truly am and will always be.
